Home Energy Assessment

If you are considering improving your home’s comfort and energy efficiency, the first step is to figure out what products and services provide you the best value. Our home energy assessments are geared to help you determine just that.

Basic Home Energy Assessment

Our free energy assessment includes an in home inspection of the home’s attic to evaluate how to improve its efficiency through conventional methods including insulation, attic ventilation, and radiant spray. Our consultants will identify the best products for your home and give energy  saving tips given your home’s layout. In addition, we will provide you with a detailed, written breakdown of your options and the potential return on your investment given your home’s air conditioning system, level of insulation, and current federal, state, and utility incentives.

Advanced Home Energy Assessment *

We provide a holistic analysis of the home envelope and its interacting systems including the attic, insulation, doors and windows, air conditioning unit, ductwork, home ventilation, appliances, and lighting. An advanced home energy assessment identifies where your house is wasting energy and enables you to take control of how much energy your home consumes. Our assessment will show you how to save money over time and will often improve indoor air quality. The advanced energy assessment includes a series of tests to pinpoint areas of hard-to-detect air infiltration, missing insulation, and duct leakage to maximize home energy performance.

HERS Index Audit*

Our most comprehensive home assessment builds upon the advanced home energy assessment by adding a detailed, qualified analysis of your home's energy consumption with our REM/Rate software. Performing a Home Energy Rating System (HERS) Index will compare your home's energy performance against an equivalent home in the same climate and prioritize potential improvements based on savings to investment (SIR) ratios.

The HERS rating process is officially recognized by the U.S. mortgage industry for capitalizing a building's energy performance in the mortgage loan, certification of "White Tags" for private financial investors, and by the federal government for verification of building energy performance for such programs as federal tax incentives, the EPA's EnergyStar® program, and the U.S. DOE Building America Program.
